The City of Pittsville is seeking a Director of Water/Sewer Utilities. The director will perform duties associated with the operation and maintenance of the water and sewer systems. Duties would include, but are not limited to, daily documentation for the water and sewer systems along with all required reports, this includes completion of the annual CMAR and CMOM, servicing lift stations, operation and maintenance of valves, curb stops, water meters and hydrants. Inspection of water services and sewer laterals, and perform other related work activities as needed. Monthly reporting to and attending the water/sewer commission meetings. Applicant must possess, at the very minimum, a High School Diploma or equivalent; must be able to work independently, with others and with the public. It is required of this position be available to rotate holidays and weekends. The director will also work in conjunction with the Street Superintendent as needed. Preferred qualifications include an associate’s degree in Water/Wastewater technology, experience in water/wastewater plant operations, experience in machinery and pump maintenance. The ideal candidate will have a Wisconsin Wastewater Operator Certification, Certification in Groundwater and Distribution as well as aerated Lagoons and UV System. If applicant does not have the above listed certifications, they must be certified within one year of hire. Wages are commensurate with experience. The City of Pittsville is currently seeking a Majority Time Water/Sewer Operator. This position primarily involves duties that include monitor, operate and maintain water and wastewater facilities, distribution and collection systems; perform routine preventive maintenance on plant equipment, record and maintain computerized service records for plant equipment, respond to water and sewer calls/alarms, read meters and have meter knowledge, collect samples and perform other operation and maintenance tasks as assigned. Minimum qualifications to apply include a high school diploma or GED, mechanical ability in equipment maintenance, the ability to work outdoors in inclement weather and must be able to perform the physical requirements of the job. Applicants not WDNR certified will need to become certified with required subclasses within 2 years. Starting wage will depend on qualifications and experience.
